Job Opportunity: Occupational Therapist (OT) - Outpatient (Days)

Job Description

• Delegate responsibilities to Occupational Therapist Assistants and Aides.
• Patient-focused activities including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation in line with occupational therapy standards and physician orders.
• Evaluate patient function using formal/informal testing to assess skeletal, neurological, respiratory, cardiovascular, developmental, social, and cognitive status.
• Develop goal-specific treatment plans based on assessment data and patient tolerance.
• Submit written treatment plans as part of the authorized plan of care; update plans as patient status changes.
• Schedule treatments with frequency and duration tailored to patient needs, coordinating with patient/family/caregiver and clinical staff.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers on pathology, prognosis, treatment rationale, and alternatives.
• Supervise Occupational Therapist Assistants, Home Health Aides, and students according to regulatory standards.

Work Setting

• Primarily outpatient with some acute care.

Required Qualifications

• Occupational Therapist (OT) license active in Michigan.
• Pediatric experience required.
• Occupational Therapy experience required.
• Active American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Skills checklist current to within 1 year, relevant to Occupational Therapy specialty.
• Two supervisory reference forms completed within the last two years.

Additional Information

• Candidates must be outside a 50-mile radius of the facility (local candidates not considered).
