Job Opportunity: Certified Behavior Technician

Location: Lacey, Washington
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 10 weeks (interpreted from contract_length value)
Shift: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 6.5 hours per day (32.5 billable hours per week)


Job Description

  • Provide crisis response support for a 3rd grade male student with autism and minimal verbal communication.
  • Work independently following the student’s plan and maintain flexibility while on assignment.
  • BCBA supervision is provided but shared across multiple school sites.
  • Required to attend group supervision sessions on Wednesdays during regular working hours.
  • Consistent attendance and punctuality are mandatory.
  • Must be able to "hit the ground running" and work effectively without direct daily oversight.

Required Qualifications

  • Must hold a Washington State Certified Behavioral Technician (CBT) credential (WA CBT).
  • Crisis response experience required, especially with challenging behaviors.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA or ARC) required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must meet all state and local educational service requirements for paraprofessionals.
  • Fingerprint clearance through Washington OSPI is required (candidate responsible for completing fingerprinting).
  • Must complete mandatory reporter training (renewed annually).
  • Required to complete and maintain all necessary background checks including criminal background, sex offender registry, and state patrol searches within one year of start and updated annually.
  • Must complete required facility-specific forms annually (e.g., Responsible Use, Access Request).
  • Must sign and comply with FERPA regulations (updated annually).

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to work with students exhibiting big behaviors in a school setting.
  • Must be flexible and able to work at various school sites as needed.
  • Must be able to attend group supervision and follow BCBA guidance.
