Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical

Job Summary

Seeking a Registered Nurse with experience in Medical Surgical care. This is a travel contract position requiring flexibility, including floating to different units, rotating shifts, holiday work, and the ability to work during inclement weather.

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years of experience in the specialty

Licensure & Certifications Required

• Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Missouri
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA or ARC Provider card required
• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC Provider card required
• NIH Stroke Certification preferred but not required
• Other certifications may be required depending on unit assignment (e.g., TNCC for ER RNs starting 11/5/2024)

Additional Requirements

• Will accept first-time travel nurses
• Floating to different units is required
• Must be able to work at least 50% of holidays during the contract
• Ability to ambulate, reach, and move objects over 20 lbs
• Ability to work assigned weekends, take call, and work the full shift
• Must be able to work at the assigned location for the full contract term

Physical & Work Environment

• Active role requiring physical stamina
• Exposure to patients with contagious illnesses
• Facility operates 24/7, 365 days a year

Background & Compliance

• 7-year background check required within 60 days of start
• Drug screening (7 panel) required within 60 days of start
• Various state and federal background screenings required
• Missouri Family Care Safety Registry (FCSR) or Caregiver search must be on file within 60 days before starting
• Photo ID and proof of eligibility to work required
• Immunizations and health screenings required, including:

  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year
  • Tdap vaccination within 10 years or approved exemption
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity or vaccination
  • Varicella immunity or vaccination
  • Hepatitis B series or immunity
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption (required during flu season)

Documentation & Verification

• Resume with at least 7 years of employment history, no gaps over 30 days
• Two professional references within the last 2 years
• State license primary source verification within 60 days of start
• NURSYS verification within 60 days of start
• Various competency exams and orientation acknowledgments required

• Prior travel experience is not required for this position
