Job Opportunity: Operating Room Registered Nurse

Location: Columbia, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Work Schedule

• Monday to Friday, 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM (4x10 hour day shifts)
• May include rotating shifts, holiday work, weekends, call, and work during inclement weather
• Must be able to work at least 50% of holidays during the contract

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years of Registered Nurse experience in specialty
• First-time travelers are welcome (prior travel experience not required)

Physical and Work Environment Demands

• Active role requiring ambulating, reaching, and moving objects over 20 lbs
• Routine contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses
• Facility operates 24/7, requiring flexibility in scheduling

Required Licenses and Certifications

• Valid RN license in Missouri
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) experience, with OR experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Required Background and Compliance Checks

• 7-year background check within 60 days of start, including alias, counties lived/worked/school, federal and national criminal, sex offender, social security trace, and international checks if applicable
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG exclusion checks within 60 days of start
• Missouri Family Care Safety Registry (FCSR) or Missouri Caregiver background screening required and must be on file before start
• Drug screening: Negative 7-panel drug test within 60 days of start

Health and Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start (must be initiated within 48 hours of signing)
• Fit mask test valid within 1 year (specific mask types required)
• Immunizations/vaccinations required or approved exemptions:

  • Tdap (within 10 years)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (updated annually)
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity or vaccination
  • Varicella immunity or vaccination
  • Hepatitis B series or positive titer (declinations not accepted for new candidates)
  • Seasonal flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption (required during flu season)

Essential Job Functions

• Ability to work full term at assigned location
• Ability to work full shift hours and take call
• Ability to work assigned weekends and holidays

Documentation and Onboarding Requirements

• Proof of I-9 or attestation
• Valid photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
• Proof of E-Verify or attestation
• Signed confidentiality and access agreements within 60 days of start
• Photo for badge (new candidates only)
• Completion of new hire packet and employment eligibility certification within 60 days
• TB survey and INH recommendation if applicable
• Resume with minimum 7 years employment history, no gaps over 30 days, including education details
