Pediatric Dietitian (Travel/Contract)

Job Description

• Outpatient dietitian role with possible clinics including Diabetes, IBD, Muscular Dystrophy, and High Risk Infant.
• Flexible schedule within the day shift hours.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) license in California.
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN), with experience within the last year.
• Experience working with pediatric patients.

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Proof of eligibility for employment (I-9).
• Valid government-issued photo ID (driver’s license or passport).
• Criminal background check within 60 days of start, including SSN trace, education verification, and national databases.
• Employment sanctions checks (SAM/EPLS, OIG) within 60 days of start.
• Verification of highest applicable degree or diploma.
• 2 supervisor references required (may be pending at start).
• Verification of 2 previous employers covering at least 7 years of relevant experience (cannot pend).
• Unit-specific skills checklist signed and dated.
• Orientation checklist and completion of required facility-specific orientation modules prior to starting clinical work.
• Completion and signing of facility-required documents including job description acknowledgment, non-disclosure agreement, standards of conduct, mission/vision/values, safety reporting, dress code acknowledgment, and fingernail hygiene policy.
• Professional license copy (if applicable) must be available upon arrival.

Health & Safety Requirements

• Negative 9-panel drug screen within 60 days of start (instant drug screens not accepted).
• Immunizations and titers:

  • Tdap vaccine required (TD or Dtap not acceptable).
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required; boosters if titers are low/negative.
  • Hepatitis B: Positive titer, declination, or proof of 3-shot series.
• TB testing: IGRA or 2-step PPD within 60 days of start required; special requirements if previously positive. Annual TB questionnaire required.
• Mask fit testing required prior to start for certain units (not required for non-patient facing roles).
• Physical exam within 1 year of start (Aya standard).
• Visual acuity exam (Snellen or Titmus) required prior to start (not for non-clinical roles).
• Color blind exam (Ishihara test) required if applicable.
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season.
• COVID vaccines preferred but not required.

Orientation & Onboarding

• Online access and orientation modules assigned before start; modules take approximately 6-8 hours and must be completed by specified deadlines.
• Orientation includes virtual and in-person components; travelers must be local or able to report to campus for unit orientation activities.
• Professional photo required for badge issuance.
• Badge pickup occurs on the unit during the first shift; security screening including temperature checks may be required.
