Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Specialty: Surgical Services
• Shift: Day (4 shifts of 10 hours each, 6:15 AM to 4:15 PM)
• Total Hours per Week: 40
• Acute Care Hospital setting with 356 staffed beds
• Charting system: Epic
• Free parking available
• May be required to float between like units, including a nearby facility
• Neuro experience is a plus
• First-time travelers accepted
• Locals accepted

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist
• Surgical Technologist experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

Certifications (as applicable)

• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certification only
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - if required by unit
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - if required by unit
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) - if required by unit
• Chemotherapy certification - if applicable
• Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) - if applicable
• IV Certification - if applicable
• Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) - if applicable
• NIH Stroke Certification - if applicable
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) - if applicable

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
• Social Security Card (as applicable for I9)
• Background Check within 90 days covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years; must include SSN trace, Death Master Index, Sex Offender, FACIS Level 3, Education Verification, MVR (if Home Health), and international background if applicable
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start, updated monthly
• Education Verification required for all candidates (nursing degree verification for RNs/LVNs)
• Physical Exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO, indicating fitness to work
• Drug Testing: 9 Panel Drug Screen within 12 months of start; instant tests acceptable if paired with attestation
• Immunizations and Health Requirements:

  • TDAP vaccine within 10 years or signed declination
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
  • 2 MMR vaccines or positive titers for Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella
  • Hepatitis B vaccination series or signed declination
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
  • Seasonal Flu vaccine during flu season or signed declination
  • COVID vaccination record preferred; declinations accepted with adherence to masking policies
• Respiratory Safety Clearance required annually for travel candidates
• Fit Mask testing required annually for travel candidates (not required for sterile processing techs)

Additional Requirements

• Minimum of 2 professional references covering at least 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within the last 3 years
• Employment application covering at least the last 5 years of employment with month/year format for dates
• Skills checklist updated annually (if applicable)
• Photo for badge (passport style with neutral background) required
• Completion of annual regulatory and specialty-specific training modules via LMS (Workramp) as applicable
• Must complete float policy acknowledgement form

• Prior travel experience is not required
• Pending licenses are not accepted
• Candidates may be required to float to a nearby facility within reasonable distance
• Epic training modules must be completed as required
• Free parking provided at the facility
