Job Opportunity: Occupational Therapist (OT) - Acute Care Hospital
Location: Rio Rancho, New Mexico
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Specialty: Therapy/Rehabilitation (Occupational Therapy)
- Patient Population: Adults, Geriatrics
- Shift Options:
- 5x8 hours, Monday-Friday OR Tuesday-Saturday
- Shift times: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM OR 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM
- Weekend Requirement: Either Monday-Friday with 2 rotating weekend shifts or Tuesday-Saturday
- Caseload: Approximately 6 cases per day
- Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
- Floating: No floating outside scope of practice
- Local Candidates: Not accepted within 75 miles radius
- Pending State License: New Mexico license can be pending at time of submission
- Return to Office Restrictions: Assignments longer than 7 days require approval
- First-timers: Accepted

Required Qualifications
- Valid Occupational Therapist license in New Mexico
- Minimum of 1 year of Occupational Therapist experience, including experience within the last year
- Experience working with adult and geriatric patients
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
Immunization & Health Requirements
- COVID-19 vaccination required (medical and religious exemptions accepted with proper documentation)
- Flu vaccine or approved exemption required
- Tdap vaccine required (declinations accepted)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- Annual TB questionnaire required
- Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (THC not required)
- Physical exam within 1 year prior to start
- Fit mask test required within 1 year of start
Background & Compliance
- 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start, updated annually
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
- Fingerprinting required within 10 days of orientation (candidate responsible for fee)
- Professional references: 2 within last 3 years (Aya requirement)
- Unit-specific skills checklist updated annually
Additional Notes
- COVID exemptions require specific forms and approval process
- Orientation and facility-specific training materials required
- No on-call duties required
- Block scheduling accommodated (M-F or Tues-Sat)
