Job Opportunity: Mammography Tech

Location: Greenwich, Connecticut
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift, 5 days a week (Monday-Friday), 7:30 AM – 4:15 PM
Hours: 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week

Job Description

• Work schedule: 5 days a week, 8-hour day shifts
• Facility size: 186 staffed beds
• Facility type: Magnet and Teaching Hospital
• Dress code: Navy blue scrubs

Required Qualifications

• Valid Mammography Technologist license in Connecticut
• Mammography Technologist with at least 1 year of experience, including experience within the last year
• BLS certification
• ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification in Radiography (ARRT R)
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Must provide photo ID matching legal name on first day
• 7-year criminal background check required within 12 months prior to start; must be updated annually
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start
• Foreign equivalency education evaluation and diploma required for internationally educated candidates
• Verification of highest level of education required; official transcripts may be requested
• Employment application with 7-year work history and no gaps greater than 90 days
• Work history verification for last 7 years required (attestations not accepted)
• Attestation of prior radiation exposure required for new candidates

Certifications and Competencies

• ACLS, PALS, NRP, CHEMO, TNCC, EFM, NIH Stroke Certification, CPI, and other certifications may be required depending on unit assignment (verify unit-specific requirements)
• Medication/Pharmacology competency exam required within 12 months of start (minimum 85% score)
• Color Blind Testing required for all candidates (minimum 80% score)
• Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required for RNs in certain units (not applicable for Mammography Tech)
• State license primary source verification required within 30 days of start

Health and Safety Requirements

• Physical exam within 12 months of start
• Fit mask test within 12 months of start; must be updated annually (clean shaven required for fit testing)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray documentation required; TB questionnaire must be updated annually
• Immunizations or proof of immunity required for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (or declination within 1 year)
  • Varicella
• 10-panel drug screen required within 12 months of start
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (September 1 – March 31)
• COVID vaccination series preferred but not required
