Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
Location: Akron, Ohio
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 12 weeks
Job Summary
Seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with experience in Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics. Candidates with either CRT or RRT credentials are accepted, but must have at least 2 years of experience as an RRT.
Required Qualifications
- Current Ohio RRT license in hand at time of application
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an RRT (higher experience requirement applies)
- NBRC certification required
- BLS certification (AHA preferred; RQI acceptable but non-RQI preferred)
- ACLS certification (AHA only) required for Emergency Department roles
- Physical exam within 1 year prior to start, confirming ability to perform essential job functions
- Negative 2-step TB test or equivalent within 6 months of start, with annual renewal
- Fit mask test within 12 months of start, updated annually (specific mask types required)
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months of start, updated annually
- Required immunizations or titers: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
- Flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption during flu season (no declinations accepted)
- FBI and BCI fingerprinting within 12 months of start (must be completed prior to start; no pending results allowed)
- Criminal background check including multi-level screening prior to start
- Two recent satisfactory pre-employment references
- At least 3 years of prior work history including 2 years in acute care and similar specialty area
- Unit-specific competency exam and skills checklist, updated annually
- HIPAA acknowledgment form, updated annually
Additional Requirements
- Must carry a valid government-issued photo ID while on assignment
- Completion of facility-specific online training modules prior to start (approximately 4-5 hours, must be completed on a computer using Chrome)
- Badge pickup required prior to or on first day of assignment
- TB results must be uploaded to the onboarding system to advance through training
- Candidates may be required to float to other facilities as needed
- Weekend availability as needed

- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.
- Fingerprinting must be completed promptly due to processing times; onsite fingerprinting may be allowed only with prior approval and may result in contract cancellation if issues arise.
- PAPRs will not be provided for failed fit tests; agencies must supply if needed.
- All work history, including any previous work with this healthcare system, must be fully documented in the application.
- Requests for time off and scheduling must be communicated during submission and interview.
