Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Nurse (Registered Nurse)

Location: Oxford, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Specialty: Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery (L&D/OB)
  • Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
  • Schedule: Every other weekend required
  • Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system: MEDITECH (experience not required)

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience
  • Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
  • Certifications required prior to start and must be maintained throughout assignment:
    • Basic Life Support (BLS)
    • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
    • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
    • Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM)

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

  • Background check: 7-year criminal history check within one year of start, updated annually; includes all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
  • Education verification (diploma acceptable if education cannot be verified)
  • Physical exam: initial and updated annually, confirming ability to meet physical demands
  • Immunizations and health screenings:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years or declination accepted)
    • Negative TB test (PPD, QGOLD, or TSPOT) within 6 months prior to start; chest x-ray and annual TB questionnaire if previously positive
    • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: positive titer, 2 MMR vaccines, or declination (titer/vaccines preferred)
    • Hepatitis B: titer, vaccine series, or declination
    • Varicella: positive titer, 2 vaccines, or declination (titer/vaccines preferred)
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (September 18 – March 31)
  • Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within last 12 months (instant acceptable)
  • Proof of 2 clinical references (hospital evaluations accepted)
  • Skills checklist for applicable unit, updated annually

Additional Requirements

  • Government-issued photo ID must be carried during hours of service
  • Attestation and verification documents including I9, E-Verify, and others as required
  • Completion of facility-specific online training modules prior to start
  • Job description acknowledgment required
  • Flu vaccine exemption forms (medical or religious) must be completed if applicable

Notes

  • Performance evaluations required if previously worked with the facility for over 1 year
  • Internal evaluations required if employed over 2 years
  • Medication/pharmacology competency exams required as applicable
