Oncology Registered Nurse

Overview

Location: Omaha, Nebraska
Employment type: Travel/Contract
Contract length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day, 3x12 hours, 7:00 AM–7:00 PM
Hours per week: 36
Unit: Adult oncology mixed-acuity care unit

Key responsibilities

Float frequently as needed to meet hospital staffing needs
Care for up to five med-surg patients
Manage complex medication and blood product administration
Work with drips on all floors

Required qualifications

Active RN license
BLS
2 years of prior experience in a large, urban hospital
EPIC charting experience
Must be more than 100 miles from the facility
Pending license accepted; if not in hand at submission, start will be scheduled six weeks out

Preferred qualifications

ACLS
Chemo experience

Schedule expectations

Travelers are first to float
Weekend requirement: 4 weekend shifts in a 4-week period
Must work 2 of 3 major holidays
Up to 2 weeks of requested time off permitted, submitted with application

Additional notes

First-time travelers are not accepted, unless the traveler has 2 years of experience at a Level I Academic Medical Center
Travelers do not administer chemotherapy
Facility is nicotine-free
Scrubs are mandatory: Steele gray with logo
Parking is available for a fee
