Labor and Delivery RN

Overview

• Travel/contract RN position in Seattle, Washington
• Night shift: 4x12 hours, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
• 48 hours per week
• Contract length: 26 weeks

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Washington
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Labor and Delivery (3 years of experience)
• Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or Heart and Stroke Foundation
• NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure
• EFM - Electronic Fetal Monitoring
• Experience working with High Risk patients
• Experience working with Neonate patients
• 2 years of experience in high-acuity and high-pace environments
• Ability to function as baby nurse during delivery and provide newborn care including assessment, eye care, Vitamin K injections, and thigh assessment
• Ability to circulate in the operating room
• Antepartum experience
• Post Partum experience

Preferred Qualifications

• ACLS
• AWHONN Advanced
• AWHONN Intermediate
• 5 years of high-risk experience

Unit Details

• High-risk, high-volume labor and delivery unit
• May float to postpartum, antepartum, and sister facilities that provide mother/baby care
• Uses electronic fetal monitoring
• Follows AWHONN guidelines
• Handles high-risk OB and substance recovery-related patient populations
• 4 operating rooms
• Average daily census: 15
• Approximately 500–600 deliveries per month
• 31 rooms and 31 beds

Scheduling

• Posted every 6 weeks based on unit needs
• Every other weekend and holidays as needed
• Pre-approved time off considered case by case

Additional Notes

• First-time travelers accepted
• Must pass clinical review
• Locals at the same rate
• Candidates from other Providence facilities outside Swedish may be eligible after a 3-month separation
