Job Opportunity: PTA Home Health

Location

• Portsmouth, New Hampshire
• Must be willing to travel up to 75 miles from home clinic (approx. 150 miles per week)

Employment Type

• Travel/Contract
• Typical contract length: 13 weeks

Schedule

• Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (5x8 hour shifts)
• Weekend rotation: None
• On-call: None

Patient Load & Productivity

• Average patients per day: 5-6
• Weekly productivity expectation: 30 points per week (points assigned based on visit type and activities)
• Types of cases: Start of Care, Follow Ups

Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid Physical Therapy Assistant license in New Hampshire
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Physical Therapy Assistant, including experience within the last year
• Experience working with adult patients
• Experience in a Home Health setting
• BLS certification

Travel & Local Candidates

• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Mileage reimbursed at IRS standard rate (from patient home to patient home; commute to/from first and last patient not billable)

Background & Compliance Requirements

• Comprehensive background checks including:

  • 7-year history verification (locations lived/worked/schooled)
  • State-specific clearances (e.g., NH State Police Clearance)
  • Sex offender searches
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
  • Fingerprinting as required by state regulations
• Education verification required
• Two professional references required
• Work history verification for at least last 7 years or 2 most recent employers
• Drug screening: 10-panel required
• Physical exam within 12 months confirming good health and no communicable diseases
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
• Immunization or titer proof for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
• Seasonal flu vaccination or documented declination required
• COVID-19 vaccination series or documented declination required

• Personal or auto insurance policy (must be current and under candidate’s name or list candidate as driver)

Additional Notes

• No guaranteed hours; if patient census is low, contractor may be floated to a nearby clinic to pick up hours
• Weekend and on-call requirements vary by location and should be discussed during interview
• Some positions may have alternate shift schedules (e.g., 4x10s Friday-Monday), but most are standard 5x8s Monday-Friday
