Clinical Lab Scientist

Overview

• Travel/contract role in Valencia, California
• Day shift: 5x8 hours, 8:00–16:30
• 40 hours per week
• 13-week contract

Required Qualifications

• Valid Clinical Lab Scientist (CLS) license in California
• Clinical Lab Scientist (CLS) (4 years of experience)
• Clinical Lab Scientist (CLS) experience within the last year
• Experience in Supervisory roles
• Government-issued photo ID
• Background check required, including SS trace, county searches, nationwide search, sex offender search, and education verification
• Identity verification required before start
• 2 professional references within the last 3 years
• Employment application required
• Skills checklist required annually
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days of start
• Drug screen within 30 days of start
• Flu vaccination or declination required during flu season
• COVID vaccination or facility-specific declination required during season

Responsibilities and Skills

• Assist staff with goal-setting
• Conduct employee evaluations
• Support hiring and interviewing
• Implement performance development
• Initiate corrective action plans
• Manage staffing within applicable labor laws
• Oversee employee orientation and evaluate its effectiveness
• Handle quality management and risk management
• Use performance improvement tools and participate in process improvement
• Maintain survey and regulatory readiness
• Respond to outcome measurement findings
• Support change management
• Manage projects such as EMR conversions and new equipment implementation
• Complete incident reporting
• Apply knowledge of regulatory requirements, root cause analysis, and workplace safety
