Cath Lab Tech - Travel/Contract Position
Location: Seattle, Washington
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Overview
- Dual role covering both Cath Lab and Interventional Radiology (IR)
- Shift: 4 days per week, 10-hour shifts (variable days including weekends), with variable start times (typically 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM)
- Schedule posted monthly in advance
- 4-5 on-call shifts required per month
- Occasional coverage of 8 or 10-hour shifts as needed
- Daily caseload includes 4 Angio Suites and 2 Operating Rooms
- No floating to sister facilities required
- Local candidates accepted; pending state license accepted
- Facility can call off 1 shift every 2-week pay period
- Weekend work required
Specialty & Experience
- Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
- Minimum 1 year of experience required in specialty
- First-time travelers accepted
- Prior travel experience not required
Required Certifications & Licenses
- ARRT certification required
- Washington Radiologic Technologist License required (pending license accepted)
Clinical Responsibilities / Special Requirements
- Neuro interventions: stroke, coils, AVMs, diagnostic cerebrals
- Cardiac: STEMI, PCI, diagnostic procedures
- Vascular: run-offs, TEVAR, EVAR
- Body: central venous catheters (CVC), drains, embolizations

Required Background Checks & Compliance
- 7-year criminal background check including nationwide, sex offender, FACIS Level 1, and state-specific WATCH search
- Education verification as applicable
- Various federal and state checks (OIG, SAM, EPLS/GSA)
- WA State WATCH search required for Washington placements
- Photo for badge required (professional, waist-up, clear lighting, simple background)
Required Health & Safety Documents
- Physical exam within 1 year (not required by facility but required by agency)
- Mask fit test within 12 months (specific mask models required)
- Tdap vaccine within 10 years or declination on file
- Negative TB test (Qgold, Tspot, or 2-step PPD within 90 days) or chest X-ray if positive TB history
- Annual TB questionnaire (except Micro Lab)
- Required immunizations or titers: Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella (or declinations with acknowledgment)
- Seasonal flu vaccine or declination required during flu season (Sept 29 - Mar 31)
- COVID vaccination or declination required for tracking
- Drug screening within past 12 months (agency requirement, not facility)
Competency & Orientation Requirements
- Pass/fail orientation testing with 80% passing score required
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required prior to start (80% passing, max 2 attempts)
- Medication/pharmacology competency exam required (80% passing in dosage calculations)
- Conscious sedation competency exam required if working in GI Lab/Endoscopy or certain ambulatory care areas
- Annual stroke education required for RNs working in neuro and related units (review only, post-start CE)
- Various other unit-specific certifications may be required depending on assignment
Requirements / Qualifications
- Valid Cath Lab Technologist license in Washington (pending license accepted)
- Minimum 1 year of recent Cath Lab Technologist experience within the last year
- ARRT certification required
Additional Notes
- Shift floating within the facility may be required but no floating to sister facilities
- No block scheduling accommodations
- Return-to-Office (RTO) restrictions: no more than 6 days off
- Two professional references required (not uploaded, but must be on file)
- Multiple facility-specific documents must be signed prior to start (e.g., license acknowledgment, equipment safety, policies and procedures, job description, PCIS agreement, personal data form)
This position offers a challenging and dynamic environment in a high-acuity, Level 1 Trauma teaching hospital with a focus on advanced cardiac and neuro interventional procedures. It is suitable for Radiologic Technologists with ARRT certification and Washington state licensure seeking a travel contract role with variable shifts and on-call responsibilities.
