Registered Nurse – Cath Lab (Travel/Contract)

Location: Worcester, Massachusetts
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: Day shift, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each)
• Hours per Week: 36 hours
• Charting System: Epic

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Massachusetts
• Minimum 1 year of Cardiac Cath Lab experience within the last year
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Valid government-issued ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
• Massachusetts Statewide iCORI Release (background clearance) within 30 days prior to start
• 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start, including:

  • SSN Trace
  • County and national criminal searches
  • Education verification of highest completed education (transcript acceptable if verification unavailable)
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks if run separately from background check
• Education verification (3rd party) required even if unrelated to specialty
• NURSYS license verification within 30 days prior to start
• Physical exam within 12 months of start, including physician statement of fitness without restrictions
• Drug test within 30 days of start (specific drug panels required)
• TB testing: Two PPDs (one within 90 days, one within 1 year) or QuantiFERON/T-Spot within 90 days; chest X-ray if positive TB
• Immunizations or documented immunity/declination for:

  • COVID-19 (most recent vaccine or facility-specific declination)
  • Flu vaccine or facility-specific declination (required during flu season)
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) or declination (declinations not accepted for Pediatrics, Maternity, NICU)
  • Varicella or declination
  • Hepatitis B (3-dose series, reactive titer, or declination)
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap or declination (declinations not accepted for Pediatrics, Maternity, NICU)
• TB Questionnaire required for all candidates regardless of TB results
• References: Two references within three years of start
• Employment application covering 7 years of employment history with explanations for gaps over 30 days
• Skills checklist required prior to start and updated annually as applicable

Testing & Competencies

• Medication exam required for all RNs
• Telemetry exam required for RNs working in units with telemetry monitoring (including Labor & Delivery); not required for OR, Psychiatry, Mother-Baby/Postpartum, NICU
• Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required within 6 months of start and annually for direct RNs working in acute care, critical care, endoscopy/cath lab, PACU, and emergency departments
• Pass/fail testing with minimum 80% score required on first day of orientation to avoid cancellation

Additional Notes

• Candidates declining certain vaccines must complete facility-specific declination forms; some declinations are not accepted in Pediatrics, Maternity, and NICU areas
• Background check and compliance attestations must be completed and uploaded as required
• Candidates must be prepared to pass all required exams and competencies on the first attempt to maintain assignment eligibility

This position is suitable for RNs with at least 1 year of experience, including those new to travel nursing, seeking a 13-week contract in a Cath Lab setting with day shifts in Worcester, MA.
