Job Opportunity: ER Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Burns, Oregon
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Facility Type: Critical access hospital, Trauma Level 4
Total Staffed Beds: 25
Job Description
- Primarily an ER nurse role with the requirement to float to MedSurg units as needed.
- Experience or ability to float to OB is a plus but not required.
- Weekend work is required.
- Block scheduling may be accommodated depending on unit needs.
- Locals are accepted.
- Start date: September only.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Oregon (must be current and active).
- Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department (ED) experience within the last year.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Certifications required:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute)
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID).
- Background checks including:
- 7-year search (SS trace, county searches, nationwide, sex offender registry)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM (must be completed annually and within 14 days of start)
- HHS/OIG (must be completed annually and within 14 days of start)
- Facility-specific documents including confidentiality agreement, HIPAA access guidelines, compliance and privacy attestation, and COVID-19 exemption forms if applicable.
- Physical exam within 1 year of start date.
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start (with specific protocols for past positives).
- Immunization or titer proof for:
- Measles (Rubeola)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (titer, declination, or vaccine series)
- Varicella (titer, vaccine, or history of chickenpox)
- 10-panel drug screen within 1 year of start.
- Seasonal flu vaccine or documented declination required.
- COVID-19 vaccination card required per Oregon state rules; religious or medical exemptions require facility-specific exemption forms and approval.
Additional Information
- Scrub color is flexible; any colors or patterns are acceptable.
- Parking is free.
- References: 2 professional references required for travel, allied, or per diem acute care roles (within 2 years of start).
