Job Opportunity: Outpatient Clinic Infusion Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Columbus, Ohio
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Position Overview

  • Travel Registered Nurse floating between multiple outpatient infusion clinics
  • Schedule: Day shift, 4 days per week, 10-hour shifts (7:30 AM – 5:00 PM)
  • No call, no weekends
  • Patient population: Adults and geriatrics, primarily oncology patients receiving symptom management during treatment
  • Clinic size: 3 rooms
  • Documentation system: EPIC

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio
  • Minimum 3 years of infusion nursing experience, including infusion experience within the last year
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) or Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) certification
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Experience with EPIC electronic health record system

Health and Safety Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming good health and free of contagious disease
  • Negative TB test (PPD, QGold, or TSPOT) within 1 year or chest x-ray if positive
  • Annual TB questionnaire in lieu of annual TB test renewal
  • Immunizations/vaccinations:
    • Tdap (adult dose after age 11/12)
    • 2 MMR vaccines or positive titers for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, and Rubella
    • Hepatitis B titer or 3-vaccine series (declination acceptable)
    • Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer; medical exemptions require documentation
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 3 months of start (amphetamines, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, cannabinoids, cocaine, methadone, methaqualone, opiates, PCP, propoxyphene)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or declination during flu season (10/1 - 3/31); decliners must wear a mask at all times
  • Fit mask test required annually for patient-facing roles; new and extension candidates must have valid fit test covering assignment duration or complete onsite fit testing

Additional Information

  • Prior travel experience is not required; first-time travelers are welcome
  • Floating between multiple clinics requires flexibility
  • No weekend or on-call shifts
  • Must complete facility-specific policies including dress code, hand hygiene, ethics and compliance, and fraud/waste/abuse training prior to start
  • Documentation and credential verifications must be completed timely to avoid cancellation
  • Candidates must be able to complete fingerprinting and background checks as per Ohio state and facility requirements

This role is ideal for experienced outpatient infusion RNs with oncology chemo certification looking for a travel assignment with a consistent day schedule and no weekends or call.
