Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: New Orleans, Louisiana
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Requirements

Experience: Minimum 2 years of Registered Nurse experience (higher value confirmed)
Prior Travel Experience: Required (Do NOT accept first-time travelers)
Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) required
- Epic experience required
Patient Diagnoses:
- General Rehab
- Stroke Rehab
- Spinal Cord Rehab
- Brain Injury Rehab

Work Details

Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:5
Weekend shifts required
Float requirement: Yes
Call: No
Special note: Minimize time-off requests during Mardi Gras (2/13 - 2/22)

Required Documentation & Compliance

Background check within 6 months covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
Government-issued photo ID matching candidate documentation
E-Verify, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start
State nursing license verification and NURSYS verification within 30 days of start
Medication/Pharmacology, Dysrhythmia/EKG, and other competency exams required annually
Physical exam within 12 months (not required by facility but required for placement)
Immunizations and health documents:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray (recent testing required)
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccines or positive titers
- Hepatitis B series, titer, or declination
- Varicella vaccines or positive titer
- Seasonal flu vaccination/documentation required during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31) with exemptions accepted
Drug screening within 30 days of start (specific panels depending on hire date)

Additional Notes

Scrubs color: Royal Blue
CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) certification may be required depending on unit
Employment application must include 7 years of work history with no gaps over 30 days
