Job Opportunity: X-Ray Tech (Radiology / Cardiology)

Job Description

• Schedule: Friday to Sunday, 9:30 AM - 10:00 PM
• Experience Required: Minimum 1 year in specialty (Radiology / Cardiology)
• Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required; 1st time travelers accepted
• Specialty Experience:

  • Neonate, Infant, & Geriatric patient experience required
  • Experience with Enema Studies & Surgery/C-Arm required
• Float Requirements: Must be able to float to surgery when needed
• On Call: Rotating on-call required
• Holiday: Holiday shifts required
• Unit Info: Perform plain films, fluoroscopy, and assist in surgery
• Equipment Used: PACS, GE, Philips, Siemens
• Scrub Colors: Hunter green

Certifications Required

• ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
• LSRT (Louisiana State Radiologic Technologist license) — temporary LSRT accepted (issued within 3-5 days after fee and proof of ARRT)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)

Additional Experience & Competencies

• Epic experience required
• Must pass competency exams including medication/pharmacology and dysrhythmia/EKG exams (updated annually, 80%+ score required)
• Background checks and verifications required (within specified timeframes)
• Must comply with facility-specific policies and appearance standards

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 12 months (not required by facility but required by placement agency)
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years (declinations accepted with proper forms)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 3 months of start (two-step skin test or equivalent)
• Annual TB questionnaire required
• MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) - 2 vaccines or positive titer required; boosters if titer low
• Hepatitis B series, titer, or declination required
• Varicella - 2 vaccines or positive titer required; boosters if titer low
• Drug screening within 30 days of start (comprehensive panel)
• Seasonal flu vaccination required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31), with exemptions and declinations accepted

Documentation & Compliance

• Employment application with 7 years of work history, no gaps over 30 days
• Government-issued photo ID matching all documentation
• Background checks covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
• Various certifications and licenses must be verified within 30 days of start
• Competency exams and skills checklists must be current and updated annually
