Job Opportunity: Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel/Contract
Location: Augusta, Georgia

Job Summary
- 36 or 48 Hour Guarantee
- Patient Population: Neonates, Adults, Geriatrics
- Floating within facility and possibly to an additional nearby campus
- Every other weekend required
- No call requirements
- Holiday work expectations based on number of holidays during assignment
- Use of Epic and Pyxis systems required
- Scrub color: Pewter gray
- Return to Office (RTO) maximum 7 days
Required Experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist
- 1st time travelers accepted
- CRTs must have 5+ years of critical care experience
Required Certifications & Licenses
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist) or minimum CRTT (Certified Respiratory Therapy Technician) with critical care experience
- State of Georgia Respiratory Therapist license required
Required Skills
- ABG Interpretation
- CPAP/Nasal CPAP/BiPAP
- Flow-by oxygen delivery
- Troubleshooting high pressure alarms
- Weaning from mechanical ventilation
- Trach collar management
- High flow nasal cannula
- Airway management
Compliance & Orientation
- Full compliance required to start on time; delays result in 2-week push back due to bi-weekly orientation schedule
- Number of non-billable orientation hours depends on contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8-week assignment)
Additional Requirements
- Background check within 30 days of start, including education verification
- Education verification required; diplomas required for RRTs
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 12 months
- Annual TB questionnaire
- Immunizations: MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella), Varicella, Hepatitis B, Tdap (highly recommended)
- Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 60 days of start
- Flu vaccination or declination required during flu season
- Color blindness test required
- Competency exams including medication test, dysrhythmia/EKG competency (specific to certain units)
- Skills checklist within 12 months
- Verification of recent work history and 2 clinical references required
Work Environment
- Floating within scope of practice as needed
- Possible assignment to additional campus 3 miles away
- Work every other weekend
- Expected to work major holidays if they fall within assignment period (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day)
