Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (MS/Tele)

Location: Leonardtown, Maryland
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Shift: 3x12 hour shifts, 1900-0730
• Unit: Medical-Surgical/Telemetry
• Every other weekend coverage required
• Float within skillset required
• Large orthopedic program experience preferred (total joints)
• Experience with colorectal surgeries, vascular procedures, bariatric surgery
• First-time travelers accepted

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 2 years required
• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) required (AHA or ARC)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) preferred
• Competency Exam:

  • Must pass Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with:

    • Minimum overall score of 80%
    • 100% score on lethal rhythms section
• References: Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years
• Background Checks: Criminal background check within 90 days, including multi-state searches and education verification
• Health Documents:

  • Annual physical exam confirming ability to work without accommodations and free from communicable disease
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within the last year (with annual updates if applicable)
  • Required immunizations or titers: MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella), Varicella, Hepatitis B
  • Drug screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season
  • COVID-19 vaccination strongly recommended; declination requires mask use during patient encounters

Skills & Competencies

• Must be competent in medication administration and pharmacology (exam required with minimum 80% score)
• Color blindness testing required
• Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required annually for MS/Tele and related units
• Ability to float to other units within skillset

Additional Notes

• Valid driver's license required if driving is an essential job function
• Facility-specific orientation and safety modules must be completed prior to start
• Documentation such as I9, E-Verify, and background check attestations required before starting
• Candidates must complete facility-required training modules (Sitels) before hire date
