Job Description
- Must have Body & Neuro experience.
- Interventional Radiology Tech position requiring a Virginia license or proof of license application to submit.
- Perform a variety of technical procedures using ionizing radiation for radiological diagnosis.
- Responsible for designated areas and procedures within the Interventional Radiology Section.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years in Special Procedures/Interventional Radiology, including thrombectomy experience. Neuro experience is required.
- Education: Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
Licensure & Certifications
- Virginia state license or proof of application required.
- Must have an active license from another state if not yet licensed in Virginia.
- Certifications to consider (verify with program management if unit description is blank):
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- NIH Stroke Certification (if applicable)
- Must be registered with ARRT for IR Tech.
Required Documents & Compliance
- Proof of I9 or attestation
- Government-issued photo ID (must be carried during hours of service)
- E-Verify documentation or attestation
- Background checks including:
- 7-year criminal history check (all locations lived/worked in past 7 years)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM check within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
- HHS/OIG check within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
- Education verification
- Drug screen (11-panel) within 30 days of start
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, including assessment of ability to meet physical demands
- Fit mask test within last 12 months (exceptions apply)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start
- Immunizations or titers for:
- Flu vaccine (required during flu season Oct 1 - Mar 31; medical/religious exemptions reviewed)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (for certain units)
- Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
- Radiation badge and attestation of prior radiation exposure (required for Interventional Radiology and related techs)
- References: 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations
- Skills checklist and competency exams as applicable
- Completion of facility-specific orientation, policies, and acknowledgements prior to start
Additional Notes
- Manager allows minimal requested time off (RTO); no more than one week off during the contract.
- Candidate must complete various facility-specific documents and acknowledgements prior to start, including confidentiality agreements, code of ethics, dress code, parking forms, and safety manuals.
- EPIC training modules may be required; some completed onsite, others offsite depending on role.
- Candidates must wear both agency and facility badges at all times.
- Flu vaccine exemptions require documentation and approval by agency or clinical leadership.
This position is ideal for experienced Interventional Radiology Technologists with strong neuro and thrombectomy skills, who hold or are in the process of obtaining a Virginia license, and who can commit to a 13-week travel contract with a demanding schedule and call requirements.
