Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Hospice) - Virginia (Aldie)

Position Details

• Specialty: Hospice Registered Nurse
• Location: Aldie, Virginia (Territory up to 60-mile radius from hub/office)
• Employment Type: Travel/Contract
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Average Patients per Day: 5-7 (to be confirmed during interview)
• Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
• Types of Cases: Geriatric, end-of-life care
• EMR System: Netsmart
• Dress Code: Scrubs (any color), no jeans
• Equipment Provided: iPad provided; cell phone not allowed
• Mileage Reimbursement: Yes, at IRS standard rate
• Locals Accepted: Yes, at travel rate
• Flexibility: Traveler expected to be flexible with territory

Experience & Certification Requirements

• Years of Experience: Minimum 1 year recent experience in hospice nursing
• Certifications Required:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS, PALS, NRP as applicable
• Licensure: Must have license in hand and primary source verification required
• Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required

On-Call Requirement

• No on-call required

Documentation & Compliance Requirements

• Background Checks:

  • 7-year background check within 30 days of start, updated annually
  • Virginia State Police Background Check and Sex Offender Search required for all candidates
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start
• Fingerprinting:

  • Florida AHCA Level II fingerprint results required for tracking (not applicable for Virginia placements)
• Health Documents:

  • Physical exam within 6 months of start, free from communicable diseases
  • Fit test (N95 mask) within 1 year of start
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within required timeframes
  • Immunization titers for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella with boosters if needed
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
  • Flu vaccination or facility-specific declination required annually
  • COVID vaccination or facility-specific declination required
• Facility Specific Documents:

  • Photo for badge (passport-style)
  • Contractor info, consent, conflict of interest, immunization statement, confidentiality and security agreement, TB symptom survey, sexual abuse policy, flu and COVID declination forms, code of conduct, and Virginia sworn statement
• Competency Exams:

  • Medication test/pharmacology competency exam as applicable
  • Other competency exams as applicable to specialty

• Timely documentation and communication are required
• No cell phone use allowed during work
• Must comply with all state and facility-specific requirements prior to start
