Job Details
- Position: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
- Shift: 2x 12-hour night shifts (Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday)
- Start Date: ASAP
- Schedule: Weekend required every other weekend
- Guaranteed Hours:
- 36 hours for 3 shifts (12-hour)
- 48 hours for 4 shifts (12-hour)
- 40 hours for shifts under 12 hours (8 or 10-hour shifts)
- Floating: No floating outside scope of practice
- Block Schedule: Not accommodated
- Locals Accepted: Yes (no local radius rule)
- Pending License: Not accepted
Experience Requirements
- Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years
- Prior Travel Experience: Not accepted for first-timers (first-timers NOT accepted)
- Required Clinical Experience:
- Pediatric/PICU and Adult critical care experience required
- Work setting experience in ER and Adult ICU
Certifications Required
- State Respiratory Therapist License (current Michigan license required)
- BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) by American Heart Association
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- CRTT (Certified Respiratory Therapist - Technician)
Respiratory Care Skills Required
- Airway Management
- Medication Administration
- Ventilator Management
- Oxygen Therapy
- Suctioning
- Pulmonary Toileting
- Nebulizer treatments
- BiPAP and CPAP management
Polysomnography / Sleep Studies Experience
- Oxygen Saturation monitoring

Documentation / Charting
- Epic electronic health record experience required

Additional Requirements
- Background checks including 7-year history, criminal, sex offender, education verification, and others as applicable
- Drug screening: 10-panel with THC within 30 days of start
- Physical exam within 12 months of start (must note latex sensitivity)
- Immunizations and health documents required:
- Tdap within 10 years or declination
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) immunity or vaccination
- Hepatitis B immunity or vaccination
- Varicella immunity or vaccination
- Seasonal flu vaccination or declination (seasonal requirement)
- Competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency as applicable
- Facility-specific modules and acknowledgments to be completed onsite or prior to start
References and Documentation
- Resume with 7-year work history required
- Two references from previous employers required
- Skills checklist and application with complete employment history required
This position is ideal for experienced Respiratory Therapists with critical care and pediatric experience who are ready for a travel contract in a high-acuity, Magnet-recognized teaching hospital setting. Prior travel experience is required; first-time travelers will not be considered.
