Position Details

Requirements & Certifications

• Licensure: NBSTA required
• State License: Must be verified within 30 days of start; license issues will result in automatic cancellation
• Certifications:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – Required for all ER RN positions; confirm if required for this specialty
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) – Required for all RN positions
  • Other certifications (PALS, NRP, TNCC, EFM, NIH Stroke Certification) may be required depending on unit or specialty—confirm as needed

Background & Compliance Checks

• 7-year background check required within 30 days of start, updated annually
• Must include: SS Trace, County Search, National Sex Offender, National Criminal, FACIS Level 3, OFAC, OMIG (NY Medicaid exclusions), OIG, SAM
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days prior to start
• Education verification via diploma or transcript acceptable
• New York State Medicaid Exclusion List check within 30 days prior to start, updated annually

Health & Safety Requirements

• Facility-specific physical exam form required, completed by a physician within 30 days of start
• Fit test for N95 mask (Halyard Fluidshield or 3M 1860) within 12 months of start
• Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year of start
• Immunizations or positive titers required for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (antibody and antigen results required)
  • Varicella
• Drug screening: Standard 9-panel drug screen within 30 days of start, updated annually
• Seasonal flu vaccination required (October 1 - April 30), declinations allowed for religious or medical reasons
• COVID vaccination preferred

Documentation & Other Requirements

• Two clinical references required (supervisor level or above)
• Employment history covering 7 years with explanations for any gaps
• Skills checklist current within the last year and applicable to the position
• Candidate must provide interview availability in EST for the next two business days
