Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Dothan, Alabama
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights
Job Details
- Facility Type: 400-bed, Level 2 Trauma Center
- Unit Size: 42 beds
- Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:6 to 1:7
- Radius Rule: Must live at least 90 miles from facility
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Alabama
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum 1 year of Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
- ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- I-9 form confirming work eligibility in the US
- Valid Driver’s License matching RN license name
- Social Security Card or last four digits confirmation
- Background Checks:
- 7-year criminal history check (including SS Trace, Counties, Nationwide, Sex Offender, Education Verification) within 1 year of start and updated annually
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
- Education Verification (official transcript or clearinghouse verification)
- NURSYS verification for RN license
- Shirley’s Law APS Clearance Form and results (time sensitive, must be completed prior to orientation)
- Facility-specific modules to be completed prior to start (deadline: Friday before start)
- Photo for badge (passport-type, no nose ring, submitted within 72 hours of signing)
- Physical Exam (initial and updated annually)
- Fit Mask test (annual, specific approved masks only)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- TB Questionnaire
- Immunizations or titers for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination)
- Varicella
- Drug Testing: 10-panel within 90 days of start, updated annually (instant/rapid tests not accepted)
- Flu Seasonal Vaccination (required for placements starting on or after 9/15; no declinations accepted except medical/religious exemptions on facility form)
- COVID-19 vaccine is voluntary
Competency Requirements
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (as applicable)
- Core Exams I-III (preferred from Prophecy; RN network Orientation Module not accepted)
- HIPAA Attestation
Additional Notes
- Facility requires exact name match on Driver’s License, Social Security Card, and RN license; discrepancies must be resolved before start
- Proof of license renewal required before start if license expires during assignment
- NIH Stroke Certification required for all RNs except Pediatrics, NICU, and Surgery units; must be current and renewed if expiring during contract
- Modules and additional trainings may be assigned based on unit (e.g., ER, CCU, Neuro ICU)
