Job Opportunity: ER Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Auburn, New York
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

  • Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN)
  • Requires 2+ years of recent ER nursing experience

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for New York
  • Current certifications:
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA required
    • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA required
    • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - Preferred but not required for ER
  • Background checks including SSN trace, EPLS/GSA/SAM, and HHS/OIG prior to start
  • Physical exam completed within 12 months prior to start, signed by a licensed provider
  • Fit mask test within 12 months, updated annually
  • Immunizations and health requirements:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within last 10 years or declination)
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray as applicable
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella immunity (2 MMR vaccines or serologic titers)
    • Hepatitis B series, titer, or signed declination
    • Varicella immunity (2 vaccines, positive titer, or documented history)
    • Seasonal flu vaccine or declination (during flu season)
    • COVID vaccine records or declination
  • Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
  • Nursys license verification prior to start
  • Pass/fail telemetry assessment on first day of orientation (80% minimum score) for cardiac rhythm interpretation proficiency
  • Medication/pharmacology competency exam as applicable
  • Completion of facility-specific documents including code of conduct, patient abuse reporting, confidentiality agreement, orientation packet, and automated dispensing cabinet security training

Additional Requirements

  • Background check covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years, updated annually
  • Stroke education: 2 hours annually (NIH Stroke Scale training may count)
  • NIH Stroke Scale certification required and must be updated annually
  • Telemetry interpretation and cardiac rhythm recognition skills required for patient care in ER
  • Candidate must review and sign facility-specific policies and agreements

  • Minimum 2 years recent ER nursing experience required
  • No explicit prior travel experience required
