Job Description
Seeking an experienced Speech Pathologist Assistant for a full-time contract assignment in an acute care and adult outpatient setting. The position follows a 5x8 day schedule (9:00 AM – 5:30 PM) with alternating weekend coverage (every other weekend, 9 AM to 12 PM Sat/Sun). This role offers a supportive team environment in a community hospital setting.

Schedule & Work Details
- Hours: 9 AM to 5:30 PM
- Rotating Shifts: No
- Call Required: Yes
- Weekend Coverage: Every Other Weekend (Sat/Sun 9 AM to 12 PM)

Required Qualifications
License/Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- CCC-SLP (Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology)
- MBSImP (Modified Barium Swallow Impairment Profile)
- Massachusetts State License for Speech Pathology
Experience:
- Minimum 1 year of experience in specialty (Speech Pathology)
- Previous charge experience required
- Community hospital experience required
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
Clinical Skills:
- Adult dysphagia management including bedside swallow evaluation, international dysphagia diet, modifying diet orders, and use of thickening agents
- Patient safety awareness including signs and symptoms of physical, sexual, and psychological abuse
- Billing and documentation skills including assessment, concurrent therapy documentation and treatment, discharge planning, evaluation, plan of care, point of service documentation, and reassessments

Health & Compliance Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Immunizations and titers: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B (positive titer or vaccine/declination as applicable)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start
- Tdap vaccine or signed declination
- Drug screening (10 panel) within 1 year of start
- Seasonal flu vaccination or declination during flu season (Oct 1 - Apr 30)
- Background checks including Massachusetts statewide iCORI clearance and other standard screenings
- Professional references: 2 for travel/allied/per diem acute care roles
