Registered Nurse – Telemetry

Location: Inglewood, California
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Shift: Day shift (07:00 - 19:30)
Contract Length: Approximately 26 weeks

Job Description

• Provide safe patient care using the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Deliver direct patient care within scope of practice on Med/Surg/Telemetry units.
• Float to Med/Surg units as needed within competency.
• Communicate with physicians regarding changes in patient condition, including cardiac monitoring and diagnostic results.
• Respond quickly and accurately to patient condition changes and treatment responses.
• Guide patient/family teaching and supervise other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California.
• Minimum 1 year of telemetry experience, with telemetry experience within the last year.
• Acute care experience.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or Red Cross.
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Certification in NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS).
• Certification in Dysrhythmia and Cardiac Interpretation/Blood Volume Pulse (DCI/BVP).

Onboarding and Compliance Requirements

• COVID-19 vaccination: 2 doses plus booster or completed declination.
• Proof of immunity or vaccination for MMR, Varicella, Tdap.
• Annual influenza vaccine or declination (required November 1 – March 31).
• TB test within one year of start date.
• Annual respirator fit test.
• Hepatitis B vaccination (declinations not accepted).
• Annual physical/health statement confirming clearance to work.
• Drug screening: Minimum 10-panel test including THC (urine and saliva tests required for California).
• National criminal background check within one year of start date.
• Completion of specialty, pharmacology, and core competencies exams (minimum 80% score).
• Completion of workplace violence prevention training.
• Completion of sexual harassment prevention training (valid for 2 years).
• Submission of updated resume reflecting recent work history.
• Two professional references required (one must be from a manager or direct supervisor).
• Employment eligibility verification (Form I-9 or agency attestation).
• Completion of orientation packet and signed job description.
• Driver’s license, state ID, or passport required.

Additional Notes

• Must be able to float to units within competency.
• Prior travel experience is not specified as required.
• This is a per diem position with day shifts.
