Registered Nurse (RN) - Medical Care Unit (MCU) - Nights

Location: West Burlington, Iowa
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Provide nursing care on a Medical Care Unit with less acute patients, often awaiting placement to long-term care facilities.
• Patient population includes geriatric, medical/surgical, adult, telemetry, and psychiatric cases.
• Unit is shared with Inpatient Rehab; nurse may float between MCU and Rehab units.
• Telemetry experience preferred.
• Deliver care using the nursing process: assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation.
• Collaborate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Traveler may occasionally be placed on call during low census periods and must be able to respond and arrive on-site within one hour if called in.
• Cerner EMR experience required.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Iowa.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience, including at least 1 year of telemetry experience within the last year.
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Experience with Cerner EMR system.

Additional Information

• This position involves occasional floating between Medical Care Unit and Inpatient Rehab.
• The traveler is not part of a regular call rotation but must be available for occasional call-in.
• High standards of professional nursing and patient interaction are expected.
