Job Summary
- Assist healthcare team during intra-operative period.
- Prepare and handle surgical instruments and equipment.
- Assist surgeon during surgical procedures.
- Provide care and equipment use based on patient age (neonate through geriatric).
- Apply aseptic technique and medical terminology knowledge.
- Prioritize and problem-solve in dynamic surgical environments.
- Recognize and respond immediately to urgent or emergency situations.
Responsibilities
- Maintain aseptic technique to ensure positive patient outcomes.
- Care for, prepare, handle, and maintain surgical instrumentation.
- Perform sponge, sharps, and instrument counts according to policy.
- Adhere to professional standards of practice.
Required Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) with a minimum of 2 years of experience, including experience within the last year.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Experience with surgical equipment handling.
- Proficient in aseptic technique.
- Experience with spine and vascular procedures.
Skills
- Surgical instrumentation preparation and equipment handling.
- Aseptic technique.
- Medical terminology and metric system knowledge.
- Problem solving and prioritization.
- Patient care during intra-operative period.
- Adherence to professional standards.
Shift Details
- Day shift: 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM.
- On-call once a week from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM.
- 12-hour shifts, approximately 36 hours per week.
Contract Length
- 13 weeks
