Job Summary

• Provide professional nursing care to a group of patients during assigned shifts.
• Utilize nursing process, current nursing trends, technology, and resources to deliver patient care.
• Perform initial patient assessments upon admission and develop, implement, and modify individualized care plans.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of nursing care.
• Ensure patient and staff safety by identifying and addressing hazards.
• Communicate effectively with healthcare team members, patients, and families.
• Support professional development of peers through constructive feedback.
• Fulfill all departmental competency requirements.

Department-Specific Responsibilities

• Apply nursing procedures and theories specific to Emergency Department care.
• Collaborate with providers, patients, and families to develop and adjust care plans.
• Promote a safe and healing environment through effective communication and safety interventions.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois
• Minimum 3 years of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) or Trauma Nurse Specialist (TNS) or Trauma Certified Registered Nurse (TCRN) certification
