Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry

Location: Pikeville, Kentucky
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 8 weeks
Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Guaranteed Hours: 48 hours per week (no 36-hour weeks accepted)
Weekend/Holiday: Every other weekend and holiday required unless approved time off

Job Description

• Work primarily on Medical Surgical / Telemetry units (Surgical/Ortho Unit) with float responsibilities throughout all inpatient areas.
• May assist as an aide on other units if needed.
• Patient ratio approximately 1:6.
• Unit size varies between 15-45 beds.
• Facility is a 340-bed Level II Trauma Center.
• No blocked scheduling.
• Must be adaptable, resilient, reliable, and a team player.
• Scrub color: black.

Required Qualifications

• Current Kentucky or Compact RN License.
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience in Medical Surgical / Telemetry specialty.
• Must have Level I or Level II Trauma experience.
• Certifications required: AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS).
• EKG test required during compliance process.
• Charting experience preferred with Care View or EPIC (training provided on-site).
• Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips.

• COVID-19 vaccine required unless a medical or religious exemption is approved; if exempt, weekly testing at traveler’s expense is required.
• Orientation week hours may vary; guaranteed hours apply except during holidays when the unit is closed.
