Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Washington
• Telemetry (2 years of experience)
• Telemetry experience within the last year
• One completed travel assignment
• ACLS
• BLS
• PALS
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Acute Care experience

Clinical Details

• Lower-acuity patients
• Common patient types include swing bed patients for wound care, rehab, or long-term antibiotics, as well as a.fib, cellulitis, severe wounds, and falls
• RN required to titrate drips
• Common titratable or set-rate drips: heparin and insulin
• Must be able to read and interpret own telemetry strips
• RN to do EKGs, breathing treatments, and Bipap
• No monitor techs
• No RRT, Code, or IV team available
• 1 shift supervisor oversees both Acute Care and ER and may take a patient assignment when necessary
• Nurse aides are called NACs or HUSs and are shared between ER and Acute Care

Float / Coverage

• May be asked to float to the ER
• Looking for travelers able to float between Acute Care and ER

Scheduling / Weekend / Holiday

• Scheduling is done at the management level
• Staff have predictable schedules
• Travelers are asked to stay flexible and help fill staffing gaps
• Typically 4 weekend shifts in a 4-week period
• May be asked to go into the holiday rotation

Orientation

• 1 to 2 shifts with a preceptor

Additional Notes

• Any color scrubs
• Housing is difficult to find in the area; a couple of AirBnBs are available in the area at additional cost and are not typically pet friendly
• Must note in submission if the clinician has ever worked for North Valley
