Job Opportunity: Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA)

Location: Santa Maria, California
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

Seeking an experienced Home Health Physical Therapy Assistant for a travel contract. The role involves providing home-based care within an assigned geographical region.

Schedule

• Shift: Days
• Hours: 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week
• Workdays: Majority Monday through Friday, with weekend work every 3rd weekend
• Holidays: Minor holidays off; major holidays worked if needed
• Orientation: 1.5 to 2 weeks floor-specific orientation

Patient Population & Work Environment

• Common diagnoses: Orthopedic conditions, strokes, joint and spinal injuries
• Work setting: Home health care (outpatient and inpatient not applicable)
• Documentation: Experience with OASIS (government-mandated form) required
• EMR system: Cerner
• Uniform: Business attire with white lab coat; no jeans

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Physical Therapy Assistant
• Active California PTA license
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Experience with home health preferred but not mandatory

Additional Information

• Rehab aides and OT/PT staff typically permanent staff
