Required Qualifications
- Active California RN license
- BLS certification
- NRP certification
- 2 full years of NICU experience
Preferred
- Level 3 NICU experience
- Experience attending deliveries
- Travel experience
- Spanish-speaking
Unit Details
- Level 3b NICU
- 16 beds
- Charge nurse available
- No nurse aides
- No monitor tech
- No IV team
- Neonatologist on call
- RT and pharmacy available 24/7
Schedule and Work Expectations
- Every other weekend
- Holidays worked in with permanent staff
- May float to labor and delivery or postpartum to care for babies
- 2-3 shift unit orientation
Clinical Notes
- Cares for all gestational ages
- Common patient types include prematurity, sepsis, cooling cases, and substance abuse or withdrawal
- No ECMO
