Dialysis RN Job Summary
Location
- Peoria, Illinois
Contract
- 15 weeks
- 12-hour day shifts
- 36 hours per week
Required Qualifications
- Active Illinois RN license, or confirmation that the application process has been initiated
- BLS certification
- Competent to run hemodialysis treatments on Fresenius 2008T
- Strong physical assessment skills
Schedule
- Every other Saturday and one Sunday approximately every 8 weeks
- Every other holiday
- No call or standby requirement
Work Setting and Duties
- Dialysis unit role with bedside dialysis treatments as needed
- Monitor patients and run dialysis treatments
- May float to general/med-surg floors as helping hands, sitter, or behavioral health monitor only
- Uses dialysis tech assistance
- Charge nurse and house supervisor on shift
Patient Population
- General/med-surg patients in a hospital setting
- May care for patients on CPAP or BiPAP for sleep
Orientation
- 1 to 3 days with a preceptor, depending on skill level and comfort level
Additional Notes
- Local placements accepted within a 50-mile radius
- Drug screen required
- Guaranteed hours do not apply during orientation
- Scrubs: any color, as long as top and bottom match
