Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Arizona
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- ACLS
- Med Surg / Telemetry (2 years of experience)
- Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
- One completed travel assignment
- Driver's License
- Experience working with Level 1 Trauma patients
- Level I Trauma experience
- Cerner EMR proficiency
- ED - Emergency Department experience
- Neuro ICU experience
Unit Details
- 30 beds
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:4-5
- Charge RN does not take patients
- 2 nurse aides on days, 1 on nights
- Telemetry system: Phillips
- Vent support includes BiPAP and CPAP
- RT available 24/7
- Pharmacy available 24/7
- IV team support available
- Floating may include MS/Tele and possibly Westgate or AZ General Laveen Campus
Schedule Requirements
- 3 weekend shifts in a 4-week period
- Holidays are worked into the permanent staff rotation
- 2 shifts of floor-specific orientation
Additional Notes
- Navy scrubs
- This is a trauma, orthopedic, and surgical unit with transplant and post-op patients
- Travelers may be expected to work with nursing students
- Must complete onboarding by the stated deadline
- Must not work another assignment or contract at the same time
- Must have been away from CommonSpirit for 12 months as permanent staff to be considered for a travel assignment
- Must have no facial piercings and natural hair color
- Travel teams must have their own vehicle
- Men must be clean shaven for fit testing
- Pass/fail dysrhythmia exam is required before acceptance
- Pass/fail SIMs Lab is required on day 1 of orientation
