Travel Nurse Opportunity: Med Surg (5SE) - Fargo, North Dakota

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Specialty

• Medical Surgical (Med Surg)
• Minimum 1 year recent Med Surg experience required
• Surgical oncology experience preferred but not required

Licensure & Certifications

• Active North Dakota or Compact RN License (must specify state)
• BLS certification (AHA required)

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 1 year recent Med Surg experience
• Experience working in a larger hospital (200+ beds), Level 2 or higher trauma center
• EPIC experience required

Prior Travel Experience

• Not explicitly required

Work Environment

• Unit: 5SE Med Surg (47 beds)
• Nurse to patient ratio: 5:1 (day shift), 6:1 (night shift)
• Floating: Home unit is 5SE but may float to any Med Surg unit on any campus

Shift Details

• 12-hour shifts
• Every other weekend (EOW) and every other holiday (EOH)

Job Duties

• Care for Medical Surgical and Surgical Oncology patients
• Collaborate with inter-professional colleagues including physicians
• Practice within full scope of nursing expertise using age and population-specific standards

Equipment Used

• EMR: Epic
• AccuDose
• Bladder Scanner
• Phillips monitors
• Telemetry

Orientation & Training

• 1 day lead center training
• 2 twelve-hour shifts on unit with a preceptor
• 12-hour night shifts with every other weekend and holiday coverage

Additional Notes

• Cannot accept travelers living within 60 miles of the facility
• Local travel candidates living 60-80 miles away may be considered with adjusted rates
• Must badge in and out at the facility
• Scrubs color: Navy Blue
• Must disclose if previously worked for the facility; if yes, last end date must be at least 6 months prior to submission
