Job Opportunity: Cath Lab RN

Location: Colorado Springs, Colorado

Position Details

• Specialty: Cath Lab RN
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift Schedule:

  • 4 nine-hour days with a rotating day off
  • Call averages 8-10 days per month
  • Weekend call: 1 weekend per month required
  • Weeknight call: 4:30 pm - 7:00 am, averaging 4-5 weeknights per month
  • Holiday call: Yes, typically no more than one holiday call shift

Required Certifications

• ACLS (AHA)
• BLS (AHA)
• NIHSS

Experience & Skills

• Cath lab experience required
• Cardiac monitoring
• EKG rhythms
• Knowledge of cardiac drugs
• Experience with EPIC EMR system
• Familiarity with balloon pump, Impella, and cath lab products

Job Responsibilities

• Circulate and monitor cath lab patients
• Monitor vital signs
• Assist with preparation and administration of cardiac medications

Work Environment

• 2 cath lab suites/labs
• Average 2-6 cases per day
• 4 Interventional Cardiologists on staff
• Cases scheduled from 7:00 am to 4:30 pm, followed by call

Additional Information

• Call response time: 30 minutes
• May float to Interventional Radiology (IR) if experienced
• Hospital provides scrubs
• Orientation specific to cath lab
• Must be available in-state for orientation week, even if some modules are remote

Years of Experience Required

• Minimum of 1 year cath lab experience (implied by required skills and experience)
