Registered Nurse (RN) – PCU/Med Surg/Oncology
Location: Omaha, Nebraska
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 12-hour shifts (various start times including 7a-7p, 7a-3p, 3p-7p, 7p-11p, 11p-7a, 7p-7a)
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend

- Number of Beds: 27-28
- Patient Population: Adults
- Nurse-to-Patient Ratios:
- PCU Days: 1:4
- Med/Surg Days: 1:5
- Nights: 1:5-6
- Nursing Assistant Support: Yes
- Charge Nurse: Yes
- Additional Support Staff: PT/OT, RN Case Manager, Social Work, Educator, Dietician
- Float: Yes, to same level of care units (Med/Surg and PCU)

Required Certifications & Competencies
- Valid RN license in Nebraska
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
- Minimum 1 year of Hematology/Oncology experience within the last year
- PCU (Progressive Care Unit) experience
- BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification
- ONS (Oncology Nursing Society) or ONCC (Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation) certification
Equipment & Technology
- EMR system: EPIC
- IV Pumps: Alaris
- Specialty Equipment: Lyko lifts and other lift equipment available
Orientation & Training
- Orientation length: 2 days
- Includes a pass/fail exam during orientation (open book, 90% required to pass)
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience in PCU and/or Oncology
- Oncology and PCU experience preferred
- Prior travel experience is not required; first-time travelers are welcome
Additional Information
- Fingernail policy: Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care areas; refusal to comply may result in contract termination
- Driver’s license required at submission to verify candidate location (radius rule applies)
