Job Overview

Location: Mattoon, Illinois
Specialty: Medical/surgical nursing
Unit: 21-bed med surg unit caring primarily for patients with conditions such as heart failure and COPD
Shift: Days
Contract length: 8 weeks

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Illinois
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Med Surg (2 years of experience)
Med Surg experience within the last year
BLS
ACLS
Must have a verifiable permanent address at least 50 miles from the facility

Schedule Requirements

Every other weekend required

Pros

The pay was good and the staff was reasonably supportive.

Cons

The paperwork was sometimes byzantine. They use a version of Epic that is customized to the facility. Someone is always looking over your shoulder and evaluating your fitness for the job. You have to rock that charting!
