Job Opportunity: Temporary Social Worker (LCSW)
Location: Brattleboro, Vermont
Employment Type: Temporary
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Provide clinical and case management services to patients and their families under general supervision.
- Promote optimal individual, interpersonal, and social functioning of patients.
- Support patient reintegration into the community or appropriate environment.
- Must have true psychiatric social work experience (not just medical social work or case management).
- Comfortable working with all age groups.
- Flexible 40-hour work week scheduled to meet patient and family needs within bargaining agreement guidelines.
- Note: The area is very rural with limited housing and public transportation options.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work (LCSW) or Master’s degree in counseling or other behavioral health discipline.
- Must be registered on the Roster of Psychotherapists who are Nonlicensed and Noncertified with the State of Vermont Office of Professional Regulation via LICSW, LMFT, or LCMHC prior to employment, or willing to apply within 24 hours of accepting the offer.
- 1-2+ years of inpatient social work experience is highly preferred.
- True psychiatric social work experience required.
- Resume must clearly list psychiatric experience and age groups served.
- Resume must specify units worked (e.g., Medical social worker, Behavioral health social worker, Long term care social worker).
- Skills checklist from within the last year required.
- Two supervisory references from the last 2 years of employment required.
- Certifications required.
- Must accept a flexible 40-hour work week.
Additional Information
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
- RTO (Return to Office) blackout dates apply: 3/16-3/20, 4/27-5/8, 5/22-5/26, 6/22-7/7.
- Locals within 35 miles are accepted but subject to a rate adjustment.
- Overtime paid at regular rate; holiday and callback at 1.25x rate with a minimum of 2 hours for callback.
- Unbillable orientation: 8 hours.
- Cancellation policy: Up to 3 shifts may be canceled per 13-week contract.

- Located in a rural area of Southern Vermont with a vibrant downtown offering restaurants, pubs, breweries, theaters, galleries, and outdoor activities such as swimming, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, tubing, and biking tours.
