Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Stockbridge, Georgia
Contract Length: 14 weeks

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
• 1st time travelers accepted
• Prior travel experience: Not required

Patient Population

• Adults to Geriatrics

Certifications Required

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• NIH Stroke Certification

Clinical Skills & Work Setting

• General diagnoses include: ARDS, Sepsis, Stroke, STEMI, DKA, Post-op complications, Cardiogenic shock, GIB, COPD exacerbation, encephalopathy, Liver failure, Drug overdose, ESRD on CRRT
• Unit systems: Pyxis, Epic, SBAR
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:2-3 (may take a 3rd patient)
• Average daily census: 19 patients in 24 rooms
• Floating within the facility required
• Block scheduling not guaranteed
• No travel pairs allowed

Schedule & Time Off

• Return to Office (RTO): Maximum 7 days
• Weekends: Every other weekend
• Holidays: Expected to work major holidays during assignment (if 1 holiday falls, work it; if 2 holidays, work both; if 3 holidays, work 2)
• Major holidays include New Year’s, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Spring Break (no RTO during Spring Break)

Orientation & Compliance

• Full compliance required to start on time; non-compliance results in 2-week delay due to bi-weekly orientation schedule
• Number of Non-Billable Orientation hours depends on contract length (e.g., 14 weeks = 14 hours)
• Clinical screening required to determine fit before final approval

Dress Code

• Scrub color: Navy Blue

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Background check within 30 days of start (including education verification)
• State license verification (Georgia RN license required)
• Annual NURSYS verification
• Drug testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (instant drug screen acceptable under certain conditions)
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Immunizations and health documents required:

  • TB test or chest X-ray
  • TB questionnaire (updated annually)
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
  • Hepatitis B series or declination
  • Flu vaccination or declination (strongly encouraged during flu season)
• Competency exams required: Medication test/pharmacology, color blind testing, dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (3 attempts allowed)
• Skills checklist within 12 months, updated annually
• Work history verification and 2 clinical references required
