Job Summary: Licensed Nuclear Medicine Technologist (Radiology / Cardiology)
Location: Costa Mesa, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Work Schedule
- 5x8 day shifts, variable days Monday-Saturday
- Variable start time between 6:30 AM and 9:30 AM
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience in specialty (Radiology / Cardiology)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- ARRT (Nuclear Medicine) certification
- CNMT (Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist)
- NMTCB (Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board) certification
- State licensure as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist
- Licensed Nuclear Medicine Technologist (no CT certification needed)
Preferred Qualifications
- ARRT (Radiography) certification
- PET (Positron Emission Tomography) experience
Job Details
- Work involves research PET scans using investigational ligands with limited isotope availability on certain days/times
- Request Time Off (RTO) must be submitted with the initial application; no RTO allowed during the first two weeks of the assignment
- Once RTO is submitted, changes are only allowed to cancel time off
- Contract length is fixed at 13 weeks
Certifications & Competencies
- BLS required
- ACLS, PALS, NRP, EFM certifications may be required depending on unit (check unit-specific requirements)
- Signed HIPAA acknowledgment required
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exams may be required
- Infection Control/Bloodborne Pathogens exam with minimum 80% passing score required
- State professional license hard copy required on site
- Continuing Education Units (CEUs) within last 24 months may be required for some roles
Health & Safety Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, updated annually
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 1 year, updated annually (includes Amphetamines, Barbiturates, Benzodiazepines, Cocaine, Opiates, PCP)
- Fit mask testing (N95) within 1 year, renewed annually
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year
- Required immunizations or titers:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Varicella
- Hepatitis B series or declination
- Hepatitis C titer preferred (declination accepted with reason)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap or Pertussis titer if unable to obtain vaccine
- Seasonal flu vaccination required by December 5 (declination accepted with masking requirements)
- COVID-19 vaccination documentation for current season or facility-specific declination with masking requirements
Documentation & Compliance
- Two professional references within 1 year from leadership in specialty required
- Verification of employment for past 3 years required
- Background check within 1 year, including criminal, statewide, nationwide, sex offender, SS trace, and federal searches
- Education verification and proof of graduation from accredited program required
- Signed confidentiality agreement and facility-specific job description required prior to start
- Orientation and safety modules completed onsite
- Scrub color: Any color for Nuclear Medicine Technologists (must be purchased by employee)
- Badge and identification requirements as per facility policy
