Job Opportunity: X-ray Tech (Radiology / Cardiology)

Location: Columbus, Ohio
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Position Details

  • Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
  • Shift: 8:30 PM – 7:00 AM
  • Schedule: 4 days per week, 10-hour shifts, working every third weekend
  • On-Call: Yes
  • Weekend Requirement: Every third weekend

Experience & Certifications

  • Required Years of Experience: Minimum 1 year in specialty
  • Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required
  • Certifications Required:
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
  • Special Requirements:
    • EPIC experience required
    • Skills with GE Siemens, PACS, and portable X-ray equipment preferred

Required Documentation & Compliance

  • Background Checks:
    • 7-year criminal background check within 90 days of start
    • Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG monitoring
  • Fingerprinting:
    • Ohio BCI & FBI fingerprinting required within 1 year of start
    • Must be completed using specific code (3701.881)
    • New fingerprinting required if break in service >90 days or results older than 1 year
  • Education Verification:
    • Verification of accredited education program required
  • Health Requirements:
    • Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming good health and free of contagious disease
    • Immunizations/vaccinations including:
      • Tdap (adult dose after age 11/12)
      • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
      • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) - 2 vaccines or positive titer
      • Hepatitis B titer or 3-vaccine series (declination acceptable)
      • Varicella - 2 vaccines or positive titer (medical exemption possible)
      • Seasonal Flu vaccine or declination during flu season (10/1 - 3/31)
    • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 3 months of start (no pending tests allowed)

Competencies & Exams

  • Unit-specific competency exams required
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required for all RNs within 1 year of start (not applicable for this X-ray Tech role)

Additional Requirements

  • 2 professional references required (at least one from a manager or formal leadership)
  • Employment application and skills checklist required
  • Annual acknowledgment of facility policies including dress code, hand hygiene, ethics, and compliance
  • Fraud, Waste, and Abuse training certificate required prior to start and updated annually
