Job Summary
This is a travel Registered Nurse position in an outpatient oncology clinic setting. The role focuses on triage and patient coordination rather than chemotherapy or infusion administration. Nurses will work closely with 1-2 providers, managing patient education, follow-up, and care coordination.
Key Details
- Shift: 8-hour days, Monday to Friday, 08:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Call Requirement: None
- Float Requirement: Yes, as needed to similar centers/clinics
- Patient Volume: Approximately 20 visits per day across 4 rooms
- Patient Diagnoses: Medical Oncology and Non-Malignant Hematology
- Work Setting: Outpatient oncology clinic
- Electronic Health Record: EPIC experience required
- Special Equipment: None
- Scheduling & Orientation: Per clinic needs
Required Qualifications
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN)
- Minimum Years of Experience: 2 years in outpatient oncology
- Prior Travel Experience: Not required; first-time travelers accepted if they have outpatient oncology experience
- Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Additional Requirements:
- Must bring own stethoscope
- EPIC experience required
- Outpatient oncology experience required (triage-focused role, no chemo/infusion administration)
Preferred Qualifications
- Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) certification
- Skills in chemotherapy administration and IV starts (preferred but not required)
Job Responsibilities
- Triage patients and manage phone calls
- Coordinate care and follow-up with patients
- Provide patient education
- Support 1-2 providers in the clinic
- Float to similar clinics as needed
Important Notes
- No Return to Office (RTO) after booking allowed; call-offs or additional RTO may result in cancellation
- Interview with the hiring manager is required before offer
- Must bring own stethoscope
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
Candidates must complete and provide documentation for:
- Background checks (within 6 months) including SSN trace, county and nationwide searches
- Drug testing (9-panel, within 6 months)
- Immunizations and health screenings including:
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B (per standard healthcare requirements)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption (mask required if exempt)
- Certifications and competencies as applicable (e.g., BLS)
- Facility-specific forms including confidentiality agreement, medication safety training, and hospital policies
- Photo for badge (passport style, business attire, white background)
- Education verification and licensure verification (RN license required)
