Job Opportunity: Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) - Travel/Contract

Job Details

• Shift: 3x12 hour night shifts
• Start Date: Approximately 3-4 weeks out (based on compliance tier)
• Float Requirement: Must float between multiple facilities as needed
• Patient Population: Adults & Geriatrics
• Patient Types:

  • Total joint replacement
  • Neuro spine
  • General surgery
  • Wounds

• Average Daily Census: 16 patients
• Weekend Requirement: Every third weekend
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:4-6
• Charting System: EPIC (experience required)

Required Qualifications

• Discipline: Registered Nurse (RN)
• Specialty: Telemetry
• Experience: Minimum 2 years in specialty
• Prior Travel Experience: Not required; unit accepts first-time travelers
• Licensure:

  • Must have an active RN license (Missouri license accepted; pending license accepted)
• Certifications:

  • NIH Stroke Certification
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
• Additional Requirements:

  • Telemetry experience required
  • Government-issued ID required
  • Criminal background check within 6 months required
  • Drug testing within 1 year required (must not expire during assignment)
  • Physical exam within 1 year required
  • Fit mask test required and must be renewed annually
  • Immunizations and health screenings required, including:

    • Tdap vaccine or declination
    • Negative TB test or chest x-ray
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity or vaccination/declination
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption (required during flu season)
• Compliance:

  • Must complete facility-specific orientation modules and policies prior to start
  • Must adhere to dress code, hand hygiene, and fingernail policies
  • Required to complete medication/pharmacology competency exam and unit-specific competency exam annually
  • Background checks including EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, and state-specific searches as applicable

• Guaranteed Hours: Minimum 3 shifts per 13-week contract
• Return to Office (RTO) Restrictions: No more than 7 days of RTO per 13-week contract

Summary

This is a travel telemetry RN position requiring at least 2 years of telemetry nursing experience and certifications in ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke. Telemetry and EPIC charting experience are mandatory. The role involves night shifts with floating between facilities and caring for adult and geriatric patients with a variety of medical and surgical conditions. First-time travelers are welcome, but local candidates within 75 miles are not accepted. Compliance with extensive background checks, immunizations, and facility-specific training is required.
