Job Opportunity: Case Manager - Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Anchorage, Alaska
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Facility Type: Acute Hospital (Magnet Facility, Level II Trauma)
Shift: 5x8 Days (Shift times vary between 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM)
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend or 4 weekend days in a 4-week schedule
On-call: No
Floating: Yes, within scope to meet facility needs
Locals Accepted: No (must live at least 50 miles from facility)
Guaranteed Hours: 72 hours per 2 weeks (may be called off for 1 shift per 2 weeks)


Required Qualifications

  • License: Must have Alaska RN license in hand (no pending licenses accepted)
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience
  • Certifications:
    • BLS (Basic Life Support) required
    • ACM (Acute Care Management) certification preferred
  • Skills:
    • Epic electronic health record experience required
    • Acute care experience required
  • Prior Travel Experience: Not required (first-time travelers accepted)

Schedule & Work Environment

  • Shift: 5 days per week, 8 hours per day
  • Floating within scope to meet facility needs
  • Weekend coverage required as noted
  • No block scheduling accommodations

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start
  • Immunizations and health screenings including:
    • TB test or chest X-ray (annual updates required)
    • Flu vaccine or declination (seasonal)
    • COVID vaccine or declination
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
    • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
    • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination (Alaska placements require positive titer and vaccine series)
  • 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
  • Respirator fit testing (annual, travel only)
  • Background check within 45 days of start covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
  • Education verification and employment references required
  • Skills checklist and competency exams as applicable
  • Completion of required WorkRamp modules (regulatory, specialty, and facility-specific) prior to start
  • Epic training modules completion required

Additional Notes

  • Only one time-off request allowed per 13-week assignment (up to 5 days)
  • No holiday time off requests for auto offer candidates
  • Candidates must complete float policy acknowledgement
  • Candidates must be willing to float to other Providence facilities within reasonable distance
  • Candidates must complete all required facility-specific and regional compliance modules annually
  • References: Minimum 2 supervisor references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting

This position offers an opportunity to work in a highly regarded Magnet hospital with a Level II Trauma designation, utilizing Epic EHR in an acute care setting. The role requires strong acute care nursing skills and the ability to work a consistent day shift schedule with weekend coverage. Prior travel experience is not required, making this a suitable opportunity for first-time travel nurses.
